Don’t Get Backstabbed by the Kaiser Crab

The Kaiser Crab is a notorious run-ender in the second act, primarily due to its unique positioning mechanics. Instead of attacking the main body, players must contend with two distinct appendages: the Crusher claw on the left (boasting 199 HP) and the Rocket claw on the right (with 189 HP). The primary danger here is the "backstab" mechanic; if you aren't facing the claw that is currently attacking, you will suffer significantly higher damage. To survive, you must prioritize your orientation to face whichever claw poses the greatest threat each turn.

Generally, the Rocket claw deals more raw damage, making it the preferred primary target. Be aware that eliminating one claw will cause the surviving one to gain a substantial boost in Strength and Block. The Crab’s shell provides massive defensive spikes periodically, but this protection vanishes every three to four turns, offering a vital window for your most powerful attacks. For those looking to bypass the mechanics, the Silent’s poison builds are incredibly effective, as they tick down HP regardless of which way you are facing. Alternatively, Ironclad strength-scaling or Defect orb rotations can overwhelm the Crab's high block values. Ensure your deck is streamlined early in the run so you can consistently draw your area-of-effect or multi-hit cards during the brief periods when the shell is vulnerable.

Picking the Lesser Evil Against the Knowledge Demon

The Knowledge Demon is a psychological battle that forces you to choose your own demise through a series of escalating debuffs. Periodically, this tentacled foe presents a “Choose a Card” screen, requiring you to pick between two detrimental effects. Initial choices typically involve Disintegration, which applies damage over time at the end of every turn, or Mind Rot, which permanently reduces your draw by one card. As the fight drags on, the options become more severe, including Sloth (limiting you to playing only three cards per turn) or Waste Away (reducing your total energy).

The most effective strategy is simply to outpace the boss; aim to finish the encounter before the third choice is even offered. If your deck generates massive amounts of Block, selecting Disintegration allows you to ignore the damage over time while maintaining your offensive momentum. For high-impact burst decks, Sloth might be manageable if your few hits are heavy enough to end the
